Welcome!
We're so glad you're here (on the web site), and would love for you to join us this Sunday at NorthStar!
It's understandable that you may have some questions about what you and your family can expect on a typical Sunday morning at NorthStar Church. That's why we've listed some common questions and answers below - the NorthStar FAQ, if you will. And, if we don't answer your questions here, please shoot us a note at info@northstarchurch.org. We'd love to hear from you, and we look forward to seeing you this Sunday!
When are your services?
Our worship service times are 9:30 a.m. and 11:00 a.m. each Sunday.
Where are your services held?
We have two worship venues on our campus: Compass Centre worship, and True North worship.
Compass Centre worship is held in the worship center on the first floor in our main building. The Compass Centre is also home to our weekly Preschool and Elementary classes and large group worship experiences (upstairs). The worship center in the Compass Centre seats approximately 750 people.
True North worship is located on the first floor in our True North building, which is the smaller building on the North end of our campus. True North worship is a smaller venue which seats around 240 people. We have a live band that leads worship each week, and the weekly message is broadcast live on a large 15-foot wide video screen.
Also, our Middle School and High School worship services are held upstairs each Sunday morning in the True North building at both hours.
How do I get to NorthStar Church?
We are located in the Acworth/Kennesaw area at 3413 Blue Springs Rd., Kennesaw, GA 30144. For a map and directions to NorthStar, CLICK HERE.
Where do I park?
There are four primary parking lots on the NorthStar campus. The largest lot is the Creekside Lot, which is located on the South side of the building, across the creek. When parking in the Creekside Lot, guests walk over a covered wooden bridge to enter the main buildings on our campus.
We have three additional lots on the West side of our main buildings - the Gold Lot, Blue Lot, and White Lot.
The Gold and Blue Lots are closest to the True North building. The White Lot is closest to the Compass Centre. Special parking spots for first time guests are located in the White Lot.
What is a Sunday service like?
While words cannot thoroughly describe the worship experience at NorthStar, our team is committed to presenting God's truth in compelling, creative, and challenging ways.
If you'd like to listen to a recent sermon, or view previous series images or videos, please visit our Media Archives page HERE.
What should I wear when I attend NorthStar?
The culture of NorthStar is casual. We welcome you to dress as nicely as you would like, but for the vast majority of those attending on Sunday mornings, attire is comfortable/casual. You will rarely see anyone wearing a coat and tie, or a dress with high heels.
What is the music like?
Our time of worship is led by the NorthStar Worship Band each Sunday morning. A typical Sunday morning worship experience would include a worship leader, a couple of singers and a great band.
On any given Sunday you may hear a familiar radio tune from artists like Rascal Flatts, Keith Urban, The Fray or U2. The worship style is very modern and is presented in a relevant way. It directs the worshiper to focus on the greatness of our God and our need for Him.
Some of the artists'/songwriters' music we incorporate into our worship sets includes Chris Tomlin, Lincoln Brewster, Hillsong United, David Crowder, and Jeremy Camp.

Where do I take my children?
During your first visit to NorthStar, we ask that you come by our Children's Registration Area in the lobby. Signage in the building will direct you to this area from the time you enter. Once you complete a simple registration form for your child(ren), you and your child(ren) will be personally escorted to their classroom.
Classrooms for preschool children (birth through age 3) are located on the bottom floor. For more information on our Preschool Ministry, please Click HERE.
Classrooms for 3/4 Pre-K through 5th grade are located upstairs. Children in 3/4 Pre-K have large group time in The Backyard. Kindergarten through 2nd Grade have a special worship time each Sunday in The Attic, and 3rd-5th graders have large group time in The HideOut. In these worship areas, we have teams of wonderful and talented folks leading our Children's Creative Arts Ministry.

Do you have anything for Middle School and High School students?

High School (9th-12 Graders) - Click HERE for more information
Do you offer adult Sunday School?
We do not offer Sunday School for adults. However, we believe wholeheartedly that adults need to engage in meaningful community with others to have regular times of fellowship, Bible study, and prayer.
At NorthStar, our Group Life ministry exists to encourage people to "get in the game" and join a small group. For married couples and singles (or single again), we offer Community Groups; for men, we offer a variety of men's Bible study groups; for women, we have a multitute of Women's League Bible study groups.

How can I meet some folks or ask additional questions about the church?
Six or seven times each year we have a Newcomers gathering, which is specifically designed for those who are new to the church and may like to get some additional information. Senior Pastor Mike Linch is always there to personally answer any questions you may have, and provides an overview of the past, present, and future of NorthStar.
